About us

Who we are

Financial Innovation for Impact (or Fii - pronounced ‘Fy’) is an international not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the acceleration of regulatory, supervisory and infrastructure innovation in developing economies.

Our mission is to enable more inclusive, sustainable, and effective financial systems, guiding their integration into public and private institutions through technical assistance, training and capacity building.

We translate robust, independent research into actionable support for regulators and policymakers facing complex challenges – including digitisation, AI, cybersecurity, and climate transition.

Fii is a conduit for turning knowledge into impact, especially in resource-constrained jurisdictions where it's needed most. Together with our partners and supporters, we’re harnessing financial innovation to build a better world.

Fii’s values

  • Innovative: We push boundaries to imagine and engineer better futures.

  • Mission-driven: We are guided by our mission and driven by our purpose.

  • Partner-led: We build trust and collaborate across sectors and borders.

  • Accountable: We hold the highest standards of integrity and transparency.

  • Catalytic: We bring bold ideas that ignite change.

  • Together: We put people at the centre and believe change happens through shared effort.

Our roots

Fii originated as a spinout from the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF), a research centre at Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge.

Born from the CCAF’s commitment to advancing evidence-based understanding of financial innovation, Fii builds on that foundation to drive system‑level change with governments and market leaders worldwide.

Careers
